I had a WRX roof diffuser that I got for free a while ago that was collecting dust in my garage. My friend came over today so we could refinish his carbon fiber hood and said that he was thinking of things we could do with it... and one of them was amazing.
The diffuser was a typical ebay special. Plain old ABS plastic and nothing great. I initially got it to see if it could be modified to fit the roof of my car (not even close, don't try) and gave up immediately.
So, what do you do with something not meant for your car but want to use anyway? Find a new perfect use for it.
Now, it's obviously not functional since it doesn't cover the rear underpan (spare tire well), so there's not much benefit other than aesthetics. But It's so subtle yet so awesome, that I don't care. It's held on with finishing screws and it had to be trimmed to clear the exhaust, but the curve is the EXACT same curve as the underside of the bumper, so there are no gaps/exposed area anywhere.
P.S. This will be going on my JDM bumper as well when it gets here!
Behold: the awesome:
