View Full Version : Driver's seatbelt? Not so good...

The seatbelt itself is beginning to fray at the outer edge. The frayed fabric is not running perpendicular to the seatbelt, but obviously this is something that I should not ignore.

I'm thinking of two options. Option 1 is to replace the seatbelt itself, work with the parts in the car, and stay within a reasonable budget.

Option 2 is to pursue a new seatbelt system. It would cost more, it would mean more parts are replaced, but it would also mean that I get a multipoint seatbelt system (like the four or five point systems some cars have).

How much does it cost to get normal seatbelts replaced, anyway? And if I decided to be bold and get multipoint seatbelts put in, how much does it cost? (I would imagine it's going to mean I need a lot more parts and possibly even new seats put in.)

Suggestions?
