I am a new member here, but have been a Legacy owner for about 18 months now. I have a 2008 2.5i SE 5MT in Quartz Silver Metallic. Right now, it is about 99% stock. I had been looking for a used 05-07 LGT to replace my stinks-in-the-snow 2003 Sentra SE-R SpecV, and I got swayed to buy a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland (it was my 6th Jeep). It was a total lemon, so 6 weeks later I dumped it, losing about $3K in the process. By then, I was so disgusted with warranty handling of a used car that I decided to just buy new, even if that meant that I had to get the 2.5i as opposed to the LGT. There were benefits to that approach, as I have a long commute (100 miles per day), plus it lets me buy a dedicated project car and not worry about downtime on my daily driver. The downside is having to insure multiple vehicles, but I can live with that.
So far, I have about 30,000 miles on the 2.5i, and it has been a really good car. Mods are very basic:
Added the Subaru fog lights and sunroof deflector,
Pulled the stock stereo and speakers for a Pioneer HU with USB capability and 4 Alpine 6.5" coaxials,
Tinted the windows (35%),
Added 5000K 55W ApexCone HIDs in the stock projectors.
Future plans are:
Rota SDR (17x7.5) with BFG KDWs in 215/45/17 (already bought; just need to pick them up), 3000K HID fog light bulbs,
Add some sort of subwoofer,
Lower the front of the car (to level it out) using Tein H-Tech springs on LGT struts.
I may also get some dedicated track rims and/or tires.
I have taken the car to one autocross event and loved it, so I plan to do more with it in the future.
