Okay, visited the sister store parts counter and came up with this.
Turbo Baja hood, premiered 266.36
Scoop trim pice, premiered 84.22
Talked to the paint people we use, a really good job not to macco. be about 300-400 for paint the hood and trim pice.
Also want to do a rear spoiler,
primed rear spoiler 156 also another 250 ish for paint
Also looking to go with a different Grille.
E-tune
RFRB, yeah I know ebay has one for $200
any of those would need a repaint...
or a Black chrome Black L7 grille... JDMplace $200 shipped in canadian.
NOTE: yeah you can't go to the counter and get these prices...I work at the sister Nissan store as a tech and get a discount at any location... :)
nice plans, dunno hwo set you are but there is a group buy on JDM B4 style hoods in CF for 4-500
just lettin you know, and if you do find a rear top spoiler let me know where I cant find one thats worth buying
SpeedmanRC
02-01-2010, 10:39 PM
I'm going to stay with the Baja hood, cause ether one needs paint...I'm not a fan of CF hoods unless the car is black or white...or a evo with that dark gray color...friend has one...but he thru a rod or something.
my OEM spoiler will be here tomorrow.

Well I got the spoiler, be next month till paint...unless my taxes are back before that. My mom is doing mine since she flipped something around last year.
Yeah, been looking for a used turbo baja hood and just can't find one, so I'll be going with a new one...once I can use the SX to drive around in spring/summer. cause doing the hood will have more down time. I'll install the spoiler once painted myself.
SpeedmanRC
03-07-2010, 03:48 PM
Well getting the spoiler has been put off a little, I need to pull my trans and add that throwout bearing fix...mine has been making noise since I put all that new stuff in and now the noise changes interment and I'm worried about some permeant damage if I don't do anything. So that's happening first then I'll worry about the spoiler.
SpeedmanRC
04-26-2010, 09:41 PM
Well my Trans is still making that noise interment even after the TSK1 I put on there last weekend. So I'm going to have a subaru tech over at the other store to give me a better idea on what is going on.
The spoiler...I'll get it painted I think sometime this week...maybe be on by next.
Trying to find one other thing for the inside cheap...anyone have a rear cargo cover for a BH? must be black.

The other day on my way back home from Eagle WI...my engine went; missing, bad sound, really bad sound, and shut off when I put the clutch in...would not restart. Had it towed to work and the video was taken the next day.
I sold my 97 240sx, mostly stock and I am using that money to put in a EJ207 from a Version 5/6 JDM STI. Work on this should start near the end of the month. I don't have to worry about emissions in my part of the state, or would I ever want to live in a location that needs it.

Update on progress.
JDM 99 version 5 EJ207 swap is ordered and waiting to clear payment (paypal e-check) and should be shipped by the 25th.
my Baja hood, gas tank gasket, rad cap, and a coolant hose showed up at work today. The hood scoop trim is on backorder and Subaru is getting 3 of them by 2-28-14 and I am the only one with it on backorder. My 1st gen legacy turbo cross member is going to be at work tomorrow.
My Walbro 255 pump with install kit will be to work tomorrow.
and the replacement y pipe that's currently torn on the swap will be to me by next week.
I work at the local dealer in town that has Kia, Subaru and Nissan if in the Janesville area you know who. So my parts from Subaru have been 10% above cost.
Got a aftermarket 03 WRX radiator with fill neck from 1-800-radiator.
I still need help with what air splitter to run under the scoop, and what style front sway bar works with the x-member and my 00 Wagon. Few places said a 02-04 WRX wagon front sway bar is the one to run?

Most other parts needed are ready and at work. Subaru changed it's mind about the scoop trim for the turbo baja hood and now it's backordered till the 15th of this month.

That is just buying imported engines they never come like they are supposed to and when they do something is always broken or missing. At work we had a customer who wanted a Ver4 gc8 front clip with the intention of swapping over the the hood and what not as well so we ordered one that was in nice condition and when it arrived it looked like a monster truck had driven over it and after all the hassle the engine ended up having low compression (45) in one cylinder. Also I don't know if you are already aware of this but that is not an ej207 that is just a ej205, no red mani....

03-04-2014, 09:08 PM
yeah, the more I see people getting them shipped the more I see them damage. I just don't have anyone around within a okay distance to find one in person. Yeah I really don't care what EJ20 it is. I just know it's a JDM V5 WRX. I want a running car by the end of the month if all possible. I am getting sick of not having a car.

Harness is shipped to iWire for the harness merge, he takes about a week to do his magic. So today I removed the EJ25 and got the EJ20 in. I know I should replace my rack but it doesn't have play and the boots are just torn. Also the VF29 has zero play, front/back or side to side. Now I have a happy attitude for this swap/project. Seeing the turbo and even if the intercooler is just resting in place.

iWire has the harness and gave a email back saying he is just a little busy so might have to add a week to the already week time frame he uses to do the harness merge. Subaru has shipped the hood scoop trim or they call hood grille. I will have it Monday, painting soon after. Today I spent time changing the timing covers and reinstalling the belt. Cut that brace in the back corner for clearance with the down pipe. Did work with vac and fuel lines. Installed the WRX radiator. Running on wastegate pressure only till I get a boost control solenoid and pressure sensor that was missing.

so it started right up after plugging in the last few things and having the dash installed. But it will not rev up, idle just fine but not rev up. check engine light on, I used the green check connectors and pulled what I thought was a code 41, battery is bad cause I let it sight so long...but can't find a code 41 in my 2000 Impreza P1 manual. But other Impreza manuals has code 41 as a O2 sensor problem. Can't for sure say it was a 41, will look at it again Monday. I wish I could have it running strong by Easter. Anythings to look at would help very much. Thanks.

Found I wired the MAP or pressure sensor backwards and dropped my 5v reference to 1.05v. Had codes 23,24,31 all for TPS, MAF and Idle control. Fixed the wiring car will idle and in neutral rev just fine. But drive it around...and I did today for the first time, get to 3K in 1st or 2nd it will cut and buck. Car in limp mode check engine light still on, this time for MAF and still two others. One I though was for the boost solenoid, using a 08 boost solenoid right now and is not plumbed to any vac lines. I have one from a 04 that I ran out of time to try. Will keep at it, not sure if I can make it to the family's Easter get together this weekend or not.

Thanks, am really happy every time I drive it. Amazing change this was, and all in a wagon. Am using more fuel then I thought I would...but it's for the good. Still need to finish up the A/C and Cruise control. Exhaust is getting done Wednesday
Installed the JDM tails...just didn't think they would be so clear compared to the reverse. Oh, well.

Installed the Walbro 255 fuel pump, got the A/C compressor and lines all in. A/C is not turning on right now, the swap harness had no A/C evap temp sensor plug...so not sure what to do with that. Exhaust was done Wednesday. Also, got the boost control solenoid ran...AMAZING!!!! Tomorrow is boost gauge if I feel up to it.

okay, exhaust and A/C was done last week. Moved the HVAC down and I need to make a panel out of aluminum to mount a used autometer boost gauge I got for cheap. Polished the headlights too.

Car was gaining oil for about 2 weeks, till I found no coolant leak and figured it was fuel. Installed the one way valve in the evap vent line that was there...and I didn't add it back till now. All week the car hasn't raised or lowered the oil. Coolant holding steady. Has a fresh filter and oil for now, will put in some Rotella next week. MPG last time I check with mixed driving half driving to work and other half was a trip to a drift event. MPG was 18 before the evap vent line fix. Right now looks to be going up to maybe 23 or 25. I'm at half tank and already have 120 miles on it. On vacation for a long weekend this weekend. Have off Friday and Tuesday. Will report MPG on the long drives.
Been working on getting another set of rims...and I think my start with these WRX rims are hopeless.

I want to get these, just will only have time to get them if still available at the end of the month.

Also need help with what air splitter to run, is a JDM BH5 one the only option or will a bug eye WRX one work with the Baja hood?

I have/had intake leaks. My travels this past weekend got 18.3MPG on the way up to my parents place. Didn't do much driving with my car during the weekend. So I just added some tape to two areas of concern I had from the beginning. 27.4MPG was what I had on the way back home. Both times on the highway was easy driving, and didn't hit much road construction each time. Car now also revs better, I haven't reset the ECU since. I might smoke test everything to see if I have more leaks/parts to replaced.
Still looking for any answers on what air splitter will work for my hood and intercooler set up.
some pics just cause.

Thanks everyone, I had fun with the build. Still needs a few things but the fun is in build.
Getting the lightly worn finish on the Saab 92x aero rims repainted in graphite rim/wheel paint by Rustoleum. Scuffed up, cleaned with wax N tar remover, primed with gray primer, and last step 1 light then one solid coat of graphite rim paint. Doing the driver side two tomorrow, and getting out of my driveway if it's nice out for some better pics.

Yes, the rust I know needs to be addressed very soon. I want to stop it, fix it and paint by fall time. Also fix the clear coat that is flaking off the mirrors. Got the other side done today, even with the crazy wind today. Had only the side door on the garage open, so I didn't spend much time between coats inside.

Boost gauge works, best $10 I've spent on a used part. Car will hold 13psi up till 7k. I don't go past that in town...I have yet to hit a rev limit with the car.

Okay, got the zero sports intake tube to replace the cracked one I got with the swap. Can't be happier, looks and fits amazing. I should be done with most of the worn/broken parts that I found during the swap. Now to sell the spare JDM trans so I can get some STI seats or Bilstien shocks.

Are near each other, but nothing hits. A tight fit is a understatement when installing a turbo engine in this car. With this next to a co-workers 02 WRX that car has more wiggle room for hoses/pipes.
Have a few 2.0L turbo wagons around work. Not in the pic is one '14 WRX and a few other N/A Subaru's.

On the 17th of August...yeah last month, little late on this. I took place in the 10th annual Madison Subaru meet/show at Don Miller Subaru. I got 1st in my class of all 2000-2004 Legacy/Outback, cause I was the only one in that class.

Also won a tint job from Tint Factory in Madison cause of the raffle. That is getting done at the end of the month and will be done to legal per WI, cause I travel all over the state and had to remove mine last year when I went white tail hunting last year.

Window tint was done by The Tint Factory in Madison. This was cause I won the door prize for it during the Madison Subaru Meet. But being this is a wagon and has more glass, it did cost me $40 to have it done. Done with 3M FX-P tint and 41% and 58%. I need it to be legal in my state of WI cause I don't want a cop to say I need to remove it like I did last year in November when I went deer hunting up north of the state.
