Just picked one up. I have seen a lot of information on the boards about the possiblities of swaps, but havent really seen anyone actually do it with a RHD.
For example, the ej20tt seems to be talked about a lot as being only able to fit the RHD, but havent read about anyone who has done it.
Also what if i wanted to just go with the wrx USDM engine? Would i have a lot more work on my hands for wiring due to the car being RHD?

If you want to swap in an engine, a JDM EJ20G (IIRC) is the easiest to do because it'll already clear your steering rack.
If you swap in a USDM engine you'll have steering rack issues just like how people with LHD cars have with JDM twin turbo engines.
But, anything's possible. The uniqueness of having a RHD vehicle is to do a full "conversion" to match the JDM cars.

I'm gonna get me a postal wagon when a Greyhound bus hits my Outback or I smack one too many trees with it. I want RHD. The twin turbo motor should drop right in. I haven't heard that the EJ20G will work but that makes the most sense to me now that I think about it. Those are very cheap engines as well. I'd say go for it!

**as Okin bows head and shakes in admiration*** :smt011 This sucks, I want one too!
If you get a Twin Turbo based motor, Will you attempt the Single Turbo conversion as well??? or just go for the JDM WRX plant?

Basically, what would the easiest swap be as far as fitment, wiring, labor time, cost, etc.
It seems like the cheapest engines are the ej20tt since they can be found on ebay for 700. But what about the wiring? Would it line up well since i have an RHD?

Wow that looks to be in great shape. What year is it? Antenna placement says 97? If it's a 95, then it might be OBDI and it'd be real easy to do any swap.

Holy balls that is in the best shape that I've ever seen a mail wagon be in. I'm very jealous. I would go EJ20G if I were you. The EJ20TT is NOT worth the effort and headache.

It is 95, however, OBD2 according to that decal under the hood. I wonder if i should have bought the 92 that they had for sale instead....but never liked the style of the earlier body

So ej20g would be the easiest swap? Since my car is RHD, will i run into any wiring difficulties?

Ok, here are some engines i found on ebay. Can someone tell me the pros and cons of these with my RHD legacy? Would you do any of these?
