I learned the other day that you can replace the BE engine mounts with the Outback mounts. The outback mounts are a bit heavier and stiffer. So i can see this being of interest to people that want stiffer mounts but don't want to go with Poly bushings.

im 90% sure of this but why dont you just get wrx or sti mounts. im sure all ej series engines share the same mounts.

I didn't realize the Outback mounts were stiffer. Where did you hear this information? My Outback mounts are way soft but thats probably because they are high mileage and need replaced. If I was going to put in new mounts I'd probably get the Group N ones.

Can anyone verify this? May be another option.

i just dont see why not. they all look the same and ej series engine have the same mount, so its worth a try if you can find some cheap
Remember that the Outback has had the FAR heavier EZ30 since 2001. It might be that there are stiffer and stronger mounts for this engine, and this is what the parts counter guy was referring to.

This has come up because i've been having some vibration issues and the dealer is having a hard time figuring it out. They put a call into Subaru Canada to see if they have heard of my problem. They actually recommended to use the outback mounts instead of the regular legacy mounts. The car goes back to the dealer tuesday for more testing and possibly new mounts.

Get a pair of Group N engine mounts and be done. Most stock Subaru mounts are similar if not identical in stiffness.

ez30d mounts are different from ej series, in my old BD mounts were more or less rectangular while ez are rounded.

Here you go. Don't forget to get 2. I'd also recommend getting the transmission mount as well.
