Hi All,

A friend of mine just sent me a link to this site. Looks like a wonderful place to hang around.

Just a little bit about myself, I drive a 2000 Legacy GT which has been transformed by me to what it is today.

Phase 2 EJ25
Yoshio Cams
Autronic Engine Management
Tuned by Yoshio, aka Japanese Automotive
Maxim Works Headers, modified to fit
Was VF23 Now a custom Turbo using VF39 shell Muahahaha
Was STI Pink Injectors - Now Siemens 785cc injectors (mo powah)
Arias 10:1 compression forged pistons
Tomei Forged STI rods
Ported and polished SOHC heads
CXRacing Front Mount Intercooler 31X11"
USDM STI 6 speed w/R180 rear diffs
Custom driveshafts
Custom rear axles - By driveshaft shop, guaranteed up to 1000 hp..
Blitz SBC-ID Boost controller
JIC FLT-A2 RS Suspension (Summer) with custom springs. was 7KG front 9KG rear, now 10Kg front and 11.5 Kg rear
24 mm Whiteline rear sway bar
22mm Whitline front sway bar
Recaro Reclining racing driver seat
lots and lots more stuff.

I've been racing in Autox in various cars for 18 Years, and so far the Legacy has to be one of the most fun cars I've campaigned to date.

See: http://www.conecrunchers.com for video's of the car in action. That site is actually a trailer for an up and coming show on TV.

I enjoy the Physics side of motorsports, just making things work!

Thanks.

Did you get a chance to check out the video? I'm the first one being interviewed, just after my buddies WRX in the opening.

Interviewer: Is racing an addiction
Me: Is any hobby an obsession?

LOL

Sweet vid Joe. I think I've seen your car on NASIOC before. Weren't you the first guy to go AFI on a BE?

Truly awesome ride by the way.

Hi Mitch,

Yup, I was at Nasioc, first guy to FI a BE, I don't know, but it was a great experience. It's putting out about 100 more ponies from the original build up, now and I'm on the 3rd Tranny. I finally smartened up and put in an STI 6 speed, and adding a DCCD controller mated to my ECU (somehow).

That would be me Joe. I've added the GT moniker to my username to reflect the newer car. Joe is a great source of knowledge of what works/doesn't work and not a too shabby on the auto-x course either. I just don't understand why he didn't go for the full STi swap when he had the chance. I should have traded you the Jetta for the whole shebang and swapped it into the wagon :D

Hey Joe!

I followed your buildups with interest awhile back... you did a great writeup on how to get the Legacy faster (specifically the BD or was it BE?) around the cones.

Welcome to SL-i!

Welcome to the site.

My 2000 GT is being shipped to you right now. When can I expect to have it back with all the goodies you have.

Hi All,

Thanks for the warm welcome... I'm always willing to help. If you have questions around anything performance related regarding BE/BH platform or the Phase II SOHC engine, I can help.

Specially around engine management (Autronic), and how to achieve specific goals.

There are more writeups on NA buildup and how to choose the correct components at the SPDA site, take a peek at the "Zen Series" of articles from the link below.

Welcome aboard! Can we see pictures? (as a 2DL would've said, GIVE US PICTURES N00B!) :D

I gave you more than pics.. LOL

There's a link up top with a video (see link below). But for those that need "Old" time pics, it's major "anti-bling", aka sleeper. Looks just like any other Legacy.

http://www.conecrunchers.com

O, BTW, GT Wagon,

The reason I didn't go with STI swap is because it would bump me up to D-Mod in the CASC classifications. Besides, the car puts out more than an STI anyway.. Enough to break STI rear axles :( but, that's the way the cookie crumbles.

I'll post pics shortly.

Do you know anything about release details on that documentary?

pdawg

Great write up's. Having a BE I have got a plethora of question's that I will try to get in the right places in the forum.

Do you still have the specs on the cam that you speak of in part 3?

Hi Belladonna, Pdawg, Strat81, Plays_with_toys

Strat81, that was the RT215 the Old Falken Azenis Sport, I have to update that tire comparo to say "When the Azenis have reached %60 wear, the tires sound loud like truck tires. The more the Azenis wears down, the louder it gets.

Mr. Toys,

As for the release details, I've been told that the production is almost complete for the entire film. I'll ask when and where it will be released and try to update everyone.

Belladonna,

Feel free to cut and paste the "Zen" Articles to this site. It's been published at Sport Compact National here in Canada. Where's the best section to put them in?

Pdawg,

Specs on the cams, it's been a looong time, but I do have the original dyno chart showing the differences, before and after shots. I'll try to locate them and post them here somewhere.

But it's in between the Cobb mild & spicy. TWE makes great cams if you want to raise your redline.

But http://www.japanese-auto.com sells the cams for about $400 bucks Canadian with a $500.00 refundable core charge. That's about 1/2 the price of most cams out there.

I think we should make a library section for these sorts of things, although they could be made stickies at the top of the respective forums.

Do they make any for the EJ22?

I read those zen articles today, and I must say, I learned a lot. Thanks Joe :D

mark... i believe i saw cams for the ej22 sohc over on rallitek

clicky (http://rallitek.com/products.asp?ID=601&PP=Y&HB=&ACC=&SP=)

i might be wrong though.

joe T... thanks for the info. i've run nitto nt555's in the past on my cavalier and will probably be replacing the crap tires i have now (bfg scorchers... don't ask... i got them cheap) with another set of nitto's. they too have a stiff sidewall with great traction. i will be looking for a set of tires for the leg wagon I will be purchasing soon though... hence why i asked.

Crap, I forgot all about this.. anyways, better late than never.. Pdawd, here's the dyno chart of the original engine before the forged stuff, and this is at 7 psi using a TD04. That was about 5 years ago, the car is now pushing much much more than that, when I get it dyno'd in the spring, I'll post a new chart.

See the updated list of mods on the first line of this thread...
