my ej205 has been working at taking down another victim. 3rd gears getting really bad...

So time to start saving for the swap, but wanted to see if anyone's done an sti trans swap in a bd? also wanna see what everyone thinks of teh spec b's dccd compared to the sti's?

I wanns stick 5 speed, but can't justify an RA or mFactory set, when i can get lsd front and rears and big brakes for a little more.

Spec.B tranny does not have DCCD. Also, it does not have the front LSD the STi 6MT has.

then what is that i-drive knob thingy in the center for?

That's the 'SI-drive', and it more to do with the engine rather than the transmission. I'm pretty sure it comes standard on all 07+ LGT's.

yeah that's it figured it would have beeen some sort of center diff control.

Yes people have done the 6MT into a Legacy. Its about the same as doing it into an Impreza. It requires much more than just the trans. You need all the hubs, diffs, axles, brakes and a driveshaft. Thats the first items that come to mind but there's probably a lot more. Then you'll need a hack like the Spider system to make the DCCD work.

I got an ej205 swap...I think I'm use to that lol

Wouldn't it be cheaper just to get STi-RA gears for your transmission, I know Rallispec.com sells them for around 1500 dollars for the kits, not sure what year tranny you have though, so it may be cheaper depending on which you have.
