Does anybody know what I would need to install this into my 2001 Subaru Outback, this is from the JDM BH5 Legacy.

Does your outback have manual controls? the JDM HVAC controller is really not worth it no matter how JDM it is.

I do have the manual controls, but I'd still like to know what is involved in the conversion.

pretty much you need everything from the JDM legacy HVAC controls others here tried the same but just gave up because they did not feel it was worth the hassle for a digital control.

I may give it a try myself, I want to convert my Outback to something of a combination of the Legacy GT-B and Outback, turning it into a Outback GT-B. Besides the unit itself is pretty cheap to begin with anyways. What parts does the unit need in order to operate? I'm seriously considering doing this. To be honest I'm curious as to what makes people quit the conversion.
Apparently you need the auto heater manifold, I wonder where I'd get that, probably needs a temp sensor the cabin too. I'll have to do some research on what I need.

I definitely look forward to hearing a response from him, I would like to know everything I can about this conversion.

You gotta stop saying that about me - it's totally not true.
But the digital climate control unit requires the motor to control the temp, the temp sensors and basically the wire harness in behind the dash. I think there's some other stuff as well, I'm not 100% because I pretty much abandoned the idea after I decided if I really wanted the cool factor I should just go with buying a B4 front clip and swapping the entire front harness and items.
If I were doing a GTB conversion then the LAST thing I would do would be the digital climate control.
Actually Subba probably knows more about this because he's had two GTB/TSRs and they were RHD (JDM). He's also had them apart more times than I remember.

True it would be best to use a front clip from a GT-B, but I wouldn't get the most out of it unless I was swapping the motor out, and if I recall, those things are expensive as hell, so I'm just going to pick up GT-B components one at a time.
Anyways thanks for the info, I'll hit up Subba.
