OEM Fog light switch

Do all the wires have to be used? what if I just want to change out a aftermarket wire harness? I don't want to have to buy the factory relay and harness just to use a OEM switch.. I just hate the aftermarket PIAA switch because it's on by Velcro and I'd like to put the OEm switch in the free spot.

because the PIAA is a On/off switch with a LED light I guess one wire is to ground and one is to the switch and the other to a 12V+ source?

on scoobymods it lists this

#1- ground for the ON bulb.
#2- ground for the illumination bulb (this ground actually varies depending on the brightness of your dash)
#3- +12 volts when key is on ACC (powers both ON light and relay)
#4- +12 volts for illumination bulb when dash is illuminated
#5- out to relay
#6- same as above (can be used for another relay)

the PIAA already came with a relay so I think I should be ok?

just use the piaa switch. i have 2 of them. they are hidden.

Ah thanks for bumping this I brought cheap bulbs and they both went out about the same time.. haven't had fogs in like 4 months

the stock subaru switch is nothing but a big switch and a relay anyways like the PIAA right?

funny you should bring this up tonight.. went to press my fog light switch and a light came on after like 4 months haha.. the yellow bulbs suck however
