I finally picked up a 360 Elite as part of a trade. It's a shame it only came with the Sonic Tennis and XBLA disc, but I do have two controllers.

Also picked up a couple of these sweet Netgear WGPS606 wireless print servers, as they're also really cheap wifi bridges, so now both my XBox 360 and modded XBox are on the network.

So, now I have to acquire some games...

Well, this is actually only my third console, and fourth I've had "in the family". We got an NES when SMB2 and LoZ2 came out, then much later I scored a Super Famicom, and even later got a modified XBox with a 120GB drive and modchip. I don't seem to buy huge numbers of games (and the modded XBox made that easy), and I guess I'm getting in on the 360 when it's matured and there are a lot of games out there than can be had for $20 or less which I am genuinely interested in.

We'll see how my hiking skills are.

It's not the console - it's Xbox Live. There's so much content that is just drip fed to you. That, plus the fact that I now stream music and movies from my desktop to my TV using my 360...who needs a slingbox!

I've been using XBMC on the XBox for 3-4 years now, and it's the PRIMARY reason I have a network connection to my consoles. Live sounds interesting, but I'm not really much of a sucker for downloading movies and the like.

We'll see, however, how tempting Netflix is...

I just love the fact that a new game comes out, I can download the demos while sleeping, wake up the next morning and play the game.

And 1 vs 100 is a lot of fun!
