subaru engine in bug

ok so i put a 91 Ej22 in my vw bug and have had it in there for a couple months then oneday while doing sixty the cooling system just dies...all my lines are clear...the water pump is turning while the engine is on but nothing is pumping this issue is stumping me...any ideas

kinda had the dame thing happen to me aoutta the blue the cooling system quit working left it sit over night in a parking lot worked on the drive to a family members place and then quit working again while i was there, i replaced what looked to be a perfect water pump and haven't had any problems since

Sounds like a broken shaft in the pump or something of that nature.

i changed the pump and still nothing all the lines are clear... i am pulling my hair out trying to solve this issue

Yea there must be some sort of blockage if you replaced the pump.
