looking at a 97 outback tomorrow.
mileage unknown.
cranks, but does not run.
spoke to the gentleman, he said he was driving and the car stopped, he took it to his mechanic who quoted him $500 to fix it, he said his mechanic said something about a timing belt, but wasnt sure.
what are the odds the valves are bent/smashed/all F**ed up?
im planning on going and looking at it, removing a timing cover and seeing if the timing belt is actually broken, etc. what else should i make sure to check?
ill probably get it even if the motor is pooped, but it would be nice to know beforehand.
