So, another thing I found out this weekend is that my fuse for my fuel pump burnt out. Now it keep doing it. I replace my fuel pump and tune up. I don't know what else to do. I was reading online and ppl said it could relate to oil leak on the o2 sensor wire, egr valve needs to be replaced. On my 98 bd5 2.5 gt.
Check your fuel pump again and make sure the harness is secure and not damaged. I guess there is a chance there is a short in the fuel pump itself.

Yeah I check everything outside for the most part. I followed the fuse from the box to the fuel pump itself. I just replace the fuel pump so it is brand new. I went through two 30a fuse this morning from starting the car up this morning. I don't know what to do beside buying extra fuses and putting it in the glove box :(
Ok the 30A fuse so I assume this is the SBF-2 fuse?
First thing I would check now is the Fuel Pump Relay. Could be a short there.
If you've already checked the harnesses on the relay and between the relay and the pump, you may have to start looking at the other things on that fuse. Looking at the FSM I see:
- Data Link Connector
- Engine Control Module
- Fuel Pump Relay
- Main Relay
Ouch, that could be anything. I assume Data Link Connector means the OBD-II connector - maybe there's a short there. With a multimeter you should be able to narrow it down though by pulling the harnesses for those relays and checking for shorts to ground.

Yes you are right with the 30a fuse. Where exactly is the fuel pump relay located? I can't find it and also I have opened the fuel pump and looked for burnt wire or grounding problem but did not find any. Do you know where the grounding for the fuel pump is as well? There is one in the fuel pump itself and then into the harness plug.

Where are the ground wires... I wondering if my harness is bad? Hmmmm...
Fuel Pump relay is under your steering wheel, behind the fuse box. Looks like you have to remove the fuse box to access the relay, and it sits next to the main relay.
Yes check all the harnesses back there for the fuel pump. Here is the wiring from the FSM:

R58 is your fuel pump harness
Ground wire goes straight to R67 which is connected to R46 (2 wire harness)
Then it goes straight from R46 to the ground, according to the FSM's diagram:

we had this happen before, it turned out that spf-1 fuse popped but continued to send power threw. and would cause spf-2 to blow randomly, so try replacing spf-1 with a new fuse also. we had this issue with a bad/under powered fuel pump to.

Sounds good. Replace both fuse so far, new fuel pump relay and fuel pump lets see what happens!

I am struggling trying to locate the fuel pump relay for my 1995 L Legacy ( RHD). No power to fuel pump, checked fuse and that is fine.
I have attached a couple of images taken..the wiring diagram you have shown seems to be for a different model, and not the L
The fuel pump connection block shows the wiring colours, not sure what is the positive feed to the pump.
The car was fitted with an immobiliser and I am suspicious the fuel pump relay may be switched..? cant really see where its connected into the loom
Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks
Paul

Well, this was mine problem. This fuse was burnt out so my fuse pump did not work. Check to see if yours is burnt as well it is the fuse box under the hood of the car.
