It's a project that I still have in mind to do too! I would definately be sweet!

I've seen them on eBay several times, but never a complete kit. I have tried email correspondence on several occasions (sometimes at great length) and they have never been willing to get all the parts.

If someone could get the schematics for the HVAC control from a 1995-1998 JDM version BD/BG that would be very helpful. I haven't been able to locate one yet, although I've tried. But there are a few things to consider:

1. The head unit certainly does appear to fit nice in the same place.
2. Many of the same control signals are there as before. Don't know about matching up pin for pin, but with two schematics that's easy. You would just need to make sure you got the pig tails and connectors from the JDM car.
3. It has an external temp and internal temp sensors. Must get them at the same time.
4. Here's the biggie: It's not a mechanical temperature adjustment. On the USDM it's a servo for the mode selector and the intake (fresh or recirculate), but not for temperature manifold. So you'd need to find the whole assembly for the heat exchanger manifold. I would suspect the blower, the mode selector, intake, and temperature adjustment.
5. There doesn't appear to be any ties from the HVAC unit and the cars computer on the USDM models, so it's probably the same thing for the JDM. That would mean that the whole unit stands alone (other than power and lighting). Again, shematics would be helpful.

Like I said, I've entered into dialog several times with sellers on eBay, but they have never been willing to get at the main blower/intake/mode/temperature assembly under the dash. Not surprising, because the whole dash has to come apart to get at it. The head unit is pretty useless without the other parts.

But it would be sweet, no doubt about it and worth every pint of sweat and frustration in the end!

I would really love to hear from someone on the forum who has done it before, don't know that there is anyone that I've seen yet though!

Short answer is no.

Longer answer is yes it will work, but its a pain in the ass and not worth it. You need various motors, sensors, and I've been told the a/c condensor unit as well from the auto-hvac system in order to make it work. Not worth your time and effort IMHO.

exactly. The JDM controller is all electrical. The USDM one is not, you'd have to invent some electronically controled arm to toggle the heat/cold work too...

You would be better off getting a JDM front clip from japan and adapting everything over. It would be expensive but you could do a complete RHD coversion while you were at it.
