Hello im new here to the forum. Name is Edgar. Picked up my legacy a little while back for an awesome price i couldnt resist. (actually won the car on ebay!) anyway here is my 00 LGT with ~188k and still runs great! (except the annoying heat shields rattling, fixing soon ). ok enough rambling. over the weekend did some diy and painted some of the front bumper, my grill, and the rubber piece on each side of the sideskirt black. and added homedepot front lip. my bumper has a few scrapes and such and decided why not. need a new bumper anyway if it doesnt come out right. and a new front pass fender. (if anybody has one let me know). well here they are and let me know what u think. Subaru FTW!

nice work! from the first pic i was gonna recommend painting the inner part of the bumper black, but you already did. looks great!
garage seal looks pretty good too. my 00' also has the heat shield rattles, if you fix it on your own lemme know what you did or how much it costs to have it done.

you can just take it to any muffler shop and they can just weld the shield. that what i did an it fixed it forever.

I cut my heat shields off. That was free.

i was thinking about that too. will do for a temp fix until i get my headers (didnt want them only because of the heatshields. lol)

Why would you need new fenders??? Those look repairable... unless you cut off the mounting tabs. Same with the bumper. It too can be repaired. But I guess getting another set will net you some spares just in case... I guess, I dunno.

Nice car, looks good so far. The custom paint goes a long way, just goes to show you don't need to paint the whole car to stand out and look good.
btw , to paint the grille, did u use sandpaper to sand it down? and what kind of paint/how much layers for both grille and bumper pieces?

thx guys! bringing the thread back from july! lol. yes i did sand it down lightly then used krylon satin black spray paint. has held up just fine!! same thing for the bumper. but i did put quite a few coats on. thing is i let it sit overnight!!!! and put them on the next afternoon to allow a good drying time and for the paint to stick. then i put the pieces back on. paint self levels and comes out really good. patience is the key!
btw anybody have a white front pass fender? lol

i have one, but on my car
oh btw, since you took off your bumper, i got some fog bulbs, and realized im going to have to take mine off too to get to them. was it hard to? is it just those fasteners underneath?
