i miss my legacy :-(

I miss her. I never expectid it to be like this. I had my legacy for about 65K miles and not a day went where she didnt start right up n go. I recently went back to my roots and bought another DSM and it was running Great. So the legacy sat for two months. My GF noticed and kept nagging me to use it since she was usin her moms car for work. So i let her take it home (about two hours from here). About three days later the tranny on my DSM split open. NICE! And no one is selling one. But my buddy has a 2G one. (Mines a 90'). The eclipse forums are the worst for info. Evryone says itll work fine. Then i go to put it in. Alls good till the passinger cv shaft is about 2" too long! No one mentioned that! I cant emagine a more caotic forum then DSMTuner. You get 15 ansers to a question and chances are there all wrong or incomplite.

Here at sli i never had that problem. Its a simple theory yu know. Ask a question. If you dont know the anser then dont bother posting some fantisy that you dream up that you think is right even tho youd never even done or seen it done.

And for all this i miss my legacy so much i wanna cry. My GS-T is sitting at my friends house on jacks now for 5 days. ime soooo frustrated! I expectid it to last atleast two to three weeks so i could get another legy before my dsm breaks. I wish dsm forums were like you guys.

Don't ever own a DSM. :smt017 pretty sure it's been discussed.

My buddy has own like 30 of them. Basically never buy anything from a 90 or use anything from a 90 there is so many little differences that most of the crap never works.

Why anyone would buy a wholly unreliable vehicle as a toy? For me, if I want to ENJOY myself it'll be behind the wheel, ripping through the curves. Not lying on my back in a garage soaked in oil.

The only DSM worth owning is an Evo.

Well im used to driving and dealing with a dsm. Im used to it breaking and fixing it before work the next day. You see me n my friend both have the same problem where we cannot shake these cars. So over the years we have developed a stock pile of parts. Along with the knowlege from multiple experiance with dealing with them.

Every once in a while you come up on sompthing new. In this case there were NO 1G trannys available at the moment. One guy said he wont go any lower than his asking price and id halfto wait another 6 days and drive 100+ miles to get it. So the idea of using a 2G tranny seemed reeely good. Especially the minimal amount of modifications it took to work (about 5 min worth of stuff). But the problem is they all lack to mention the axles from eather car dont work. You need to use the 2G input spline part of the CV and the rest is the 1G axle.

You see my frustration isnt relly with DSMs. I know what to expect. Its just the problem with false information. If i wasnt on my Blackberry id copy/paist the postings to show you

As for having a legacy its Honestly the Best car ive ever owned. But i have had DSMs as DDs before. Its not so bad. As long as your a good mechanic with money and parts. I mean they are a pain, but how many cars can you spend 2k to buy, 3k in upgraids, throw in some spare parts and knowlage and run 12s. My legacy woldnt do close to that. But it will ALWAYS make it to the finnish line.

The motor is probably the only good thing about those cars though...everything else sorta just falls apart around the 4g :lol:

I know what you're saying tho. I had the same issue with a Nissan site. Drama was better than passing on their knowledge of certain issues some people had. Heck, I don't even go to NastySock anymore as well as a local site, where if you don't have a WRX, you don't have a Subaru. :smt019

honestly its a pretty good one. maybe its just the subaru crowd. but when i had my two 76 datsun 280Zs

Best Subaru story was my buddy who had head gaskets done on his 2.5RS by a Subaru tech in Indiana and on the way home to WI after picking up the newly refreshed motored car he spun the #3 rod bearing. :smt023
