MAF postion

I am thinking about rerouting the air intake on my 95 wagon and i wondered if anybody has placed the MAF sensor in front of the throttle body? If so, did it cause any runablity problems?

It's been discussed and a few people have tried. Issue is you have to extend the MAF sensor wiring, and you won't have enough underhood clearance.

You also don't want the MAF to be really close to the TB because the intake "noise" (i.e. the pulsation of air from inside the plenum) can affect the MAF readings. You'll also want it to be in the middle of a straight stretch of tubing, because putting it at a corner or in the middle of a bend can cause the MAF to pick up air turbulance which will also throw off the readings.

Thanks for the input ouch. I hadn't even thought of that. This is my first experience with a MAF. My old dodge stratus had a MAP sensor which allowed for more radical intake designs.
