Sup fellas.

I got a 97 Legacy GT here, and I am in the process of changing the seats out for some leathers from a 99 GT Limited.

I am having a small issue with the drivers front seat. There are 5 bolts holding the seat in, 4 go into the floor, and there is 1 in the rear that goes into the driveshaft hump. But, the one that is in the rear that mounts to the floor (it's the one that is on the right if you are looking at it from the back) will not come out. I loosened it, and all it does is spin freely. Does anyone know if there is a nut on the back of it as an extra safety feature or something? All other bolts come out just fine.

Any help is appreciated!!

Threads are stripped. You're going to have to yank it out.

I'll back him, that bolt strips and spins freely on the other side of the tranny passageway.

Me and SLIKID99 destroyed it furiously trying to get it out. Sawed on it, pried on it, ect.

In the end, got alot of it to stick out then used bolt cutters on the bitch. Huge ones.

There's a nut welded to the hump under the car. Welds probably broke. Mine did. Grab a 17mm (I think) and a really long set of arms (or a friend) and some penetrating oil and get it out.

/\ is right. I took the ones out of my 98 and there is a bolt welded to the back. You are just going to have a friend get under and give you a hand. Same deal with installing the new seats. Just an extra 10 minutes all together.
