So the other day I was driving on a dirt road in the mountains near my house when a baby deer jumps out onto the road I slam on the brakes lost control and slammed into a ditch and smacked the front end into a bank. I get it out of the ditch and get out to see what damage I have. To my surprise(after taking off all the grass and mud)I didn't have one scratch on my bumper I was so releaved! I love my Subie

Hmmm those Gen 3 Leggy's must be made of stone because "MANY" of the gen 2 BD/BK fold like Japanese tin cans.

Take another look.... after washing it. :wink: Also, check the lower tie bar (under your radiator) and body lines are a dead give away to other issues.

in comparison you know the BE/BL is stronger/stiffer then the BD. since the bd is essentially a gc.

but yes you are correct any car will fold, some just fold faster then others

I was just going to say... I'd rather have a car fold up in an accident, because then it is absorbing the energy that would otherwise be killing me. Yeah, it might mean that a fender bender could turn into a pretty expensive adventure, but when it comes to a serious accident, driving a car "made of stone" is probably going to be much, much worse for the people inside the car than the "Japanese tin can."

That is, of course, as long as the cabin stays intact. Cabin intrusion is bad.

I'll take a car with crumple zones any day over something built like a tank. Yea at the end of the day the body damage to the car isnt much. But seatbelt or not if you get jarred hard enough you can separate organs and or just bleed eternally from the seat belt snapping you hard enough. Folding tin cans for the win :smt023
