these clearly say they will work for 2.2L and 2.5L, so today when the muffler guy called me to say my single port is not the same as the Borla but he can "Make them fit" I said do it. Is my car going to have problems now?

I'd say that if you get the car back and you have problems, then he didn't "make it fit" correctly, as he said he could, right? If the mechanic messes it up, take it back... Plain and simple.

I would do as EXP1787 suggested... If the mechanic f*cks it up, he's the one that said he could do it, and is thus responcible for making it work.

However for other people and future reference, please note that not all 2.2l engines are dual port, so that the 2.5l headers will not match "ALL" 2.2l engines.

It almost definately didn't increase power output. It likely reduced it.

Find out how he "made it work" and check.

If you decide to get rid of the headers, hook a brotha up. I might take em if the price is right.

Borla makes single port also, ask perdue about it, his is single port.

Mine is dual, so I have no worries :D

I wouldn't trust the guy to "fix it"...sounds like you could have problems down the road.

yeah, i would also try to get something in writing or some sort of insurance from this guy if he messes up. i have a feeling you're getting screwed on this deal.

So Borla makes 17199 for my single port. So if you want to buy them and trade w/ me you can save like $40 for slightly used 17183(2 days so far) how come all of the sites I find headers on are on the West Coast? PM if interested!

its real easy to tell...just go and look at where the headers interface with the block, it will be obvious if it isn't single port. (my 95 L is Dual, btw)

one of the sites is www.rallitek.com (http://www.rallitek.com)

www.boxer4racing.com (http://www.boxer4racing.com) has them at a much better price, they're out of NC

I might, it depends on how it was "fixed" to work.

eh, if you're looking for a header, rallitek and boxer4racing are pricey compared to other sites...i got my borla header $40 cheaper than what rallitek wanted...i'd search around

rallitek has it for 400
boxer4racing has it for 300

renick motorsports used to have it for 260, but they upped it to 300

Shoot an Email to Boxer4Racing. When I ordered mine, they were out of stock, but they may have'em back in. If they don't have'em, Rallitek should have'em and will match Boxer4's price of $299 plus shipping.

doubt its much of anything...unless you're talking TWE level engineering, but they only design headers for dual port, so its a moot point.

 $400 at rallitek...i didn't think it was that much when i ordered mine...i bought my borla from summit racing for $320 and that included a $20 discount and shipping...

What's the HP gain for a header?

What's the HP gain for a header?

depends on your engine displacement and whether you have aftermarket exhaust behind the header...

by itself, anywhere from 2-6 HP, I would think...the high tech headers like TWE probably deliver more...
