I'm gonna be the first to chime in and give the token "dirty MAF" advice.

I thought the same thing, i cleaned the maf sensor with a cleaner that was supposta work but it still does the same thing. i sparyed it like 10 times like the bottle said but it defently could be a faulty maf sensor. i will check into that..

You could try cleaning the IAC valve.

Also, I'm pretty sure this thread isn't in the appropriate section :smt006

Did this start happening the ride right after you replaced the plug and wires?

If you have a check engine light then take it to a Subaru dealer and have the codes read. Repair the codes then see if it runs better. You really can not shortcut engine codes and hope to make it run right.

He already got the codes read.

Yes, he did. However, the answer he got seems quite vague...

Go to a dealer and get the definitions as well.

Do you know the exact code numer(s) that came up? If this is OBDII ('96 or later,) it should be. The following codes that deal with the idle system might help you determine what's wrong.

P1501 Idle Control System Malfunction (Fail Safe)
P1507 Idle Control System Malfunction (Fail Safe)
P1510 Idle Air Control Solenoid Signal 1 Circuit Low Input
P1511 Idle Air Control Solenoid Signal 1 Circuit High Input
P1512 Idle Air Control Solenoid Signal 2 Circuit Low Input
P1513 Idle Air Control Solenoid Signal 2 Circuit High Input
P1514 Idle Air Control Solenoid Signal 3 Circuit Low Input
P1515 Idle Air Control Solenoid Signal 3 Circuit High Input
P1516 Idle Air Control Solenoid Signal 4 Circuit Low Input
P1517 Idle Air Control Solenoid Signal 4 Circuit High Input
