Suspension Question for you Legacy Guru's

Hey Everyone,

I just need one question answered. I have aquired 04 STi suspension, but it is missing the rear top mounts.

Is it possible for me to re-use the rear topmounts from my 1997 Legacy wagon struts on the STi struts and springs or will I only be able to use stock STi ones/group N top mounts?

Tis a good suspension to be running on. I have the exact same thing.

I thought I'd copy and paste a convo I had with DeadlyDave as he was advising me on the same exact thing

Back: Less complicated. The tophat/strut mounts in the rear are 1 solid unit, not 2 separable ones like the front. The stock legacy piece works here fine, and I don't know what else will fit. There is a company on nasioc that sells metal spacers for the rear struts--PLEASE buy a pair of these--even though 100% of the parts listed above fit, the rear of your car will sag and make it look like there's a body in the trunk always. The spacer will raise the rear an extra 1/2 inch total, for a much more factory look.

1/4" and 3/8" will work perfectly fine before you need to do some modifications. Confirmed from Shane at PF.

I didn't get them and I still haven't and I'm half half on being disappointed. The car handles beautifully and it is perfectly stanced for me, but I can notice the sag. The sag doesnt really bother me, but that extra 3/8" or so clearance would help my rubbing woes. =\ I just don't wanna go through the hassle of putting them on.

Okay, sounds good. So you suggest going with the 3/8"... I'll look into that.

But, what ones do I go with, by that I mean, which model of car...because technicially it's between the strutmount and the chassis... so would it have to be made to fit my wagon or the strut? Oh goodness, this is confusing even me

*** They don't make a 95-99 Legacy spacer, so would I go for the 02-03 impreza or 04-07 impreza

no. your stock top mounts will not work with the sti springs. you need 04-07 impreza rear tops.
