does anyone know if this has been done or what it would take to do this? I really want to get a bike rack on top of my GT but i don't want to throw down 300 bucks for the Qtower base set up? how exactly are the rails mounted on the outback and how hard would it be to put them on my car? Thanks!

You'd have to drill the roof to mount the rails.

And the rails go all the way back to the hatch area of the wagon. There's not going to be enough roof on your BD sedan to adapt the Outback rails I don't think.

i have wanted to do the same thing. and i have parked next to some outbacks and i thing that because of the sunroof the rack is shorter and i am pretty sure it will fit on a BD.

Shop around
In the past month I put together a rack with
4 Lowriders and X-Bars for 96 (retail 220)
2 Raptors for 50 (retail 200)
38" fairing for 20 (retail 70)

so 170 for what would have retailed for nearly 500

K thanks guys, I would much rather shop around used and put one together than drill holes in my leggy!
