Patient is a 95 Legacy Wagon. 270k miles. Sexy White. Known as the "Shaggin Wagon".

Bought the Legacy Tweeter kit the other day, and I have been itching to put them in. it got cool and dry around here so I pulled off the door skins (yes, I know I didn't have to) to get to the blank spots...and decided that the window regulators looked dry, so they got lubed with WLG, tracks and all.

When I was knocking around in there, I noticed the vibration in the metal, so I covered the door skin AND door metal with Fat Mat Butyl soundproofing. Then, I looked back at the Wagon lid and figured I might as well do that...

Put everything back together, and it's like a new car. I drive down the road, and it FEELS like my Audi.

The door thunks, instead of rattles.
The guitar highs can be heard in Pearl Jam songs due to the tweeters.
And my windows practically zoom up and down their tracks.

30 bucks for the tweeters, 25 bucks for the Fat Mat, 3 bucks for the WLG and two hours of my time to do all of it. Has increased my enjoyment of actually driving down the road immensely.

Next, tinting and keyless entry. If anyone has an easy aftermarket way to do keyless, I'm all ears.

Dynamat Xtreme also works really well. I did that in my impreza and it was a huge improvement in driving comfort and sound quality.

Yeah, but the FatMat was 25 bucks for enough to do 4 doors. Dynamat Extreme was multiple times the price. That was one of my goals: to keep the price low.

Sounds good (excuse the pun). I will have to check out the FatMat. Does it weigh the same or more as Dynamat Xtreme? I'm not really into adding more weight to the car.

To give you an idea, the FatMat 1800 square inches weighed about as much as 5lbs. I did all four doors with that. Seemed very light to me.
