Ok so i have a 1996 subaru legacy L wagon. and im looking to upgrade the weak and annoyingly rusty and horrible shape brakes. coming for a my track car that has amazing brakes to the legacy is not good.
i have been looking at a set of 04' wrx front brake, and was wonder if they would work and bolt up. and the next question what rear set up would be needed to keep the brake bais. do same year wagon wrx rear brake bolt and would sedan brakes work to or what model should i look for?
Thanks for the help
Jason

Best bang for buck - 97-99 Legacy GT front brakes, H6 rear brake upgrade.
WRX brakes are bigger, but heavier and not required for the lower-powered lighter weight Legacy.

i did just remove my brake calipers from my 01 legacy gt if you intrested. i dont know if they are a straight bolt up for you. roger will know the answer to that one.

those are the same as the BD/BK GT's, 2 pot caliper. Will bolt right up and fit under 16x6.5" stock wheels. :smt023

Well i found a killer deal on wrx complete front rotors, new pads, and calipers. if i find a better deal somewhere else on 97-99 GT brakes then ill go with them, but im sure i wont.
So what im getting is the WRX set up will work on my car and i can run H6 rear brakes to match or what other models?

Ok cool. What else would be needed other then the calipers, rotors, and pads to make them work. are the caliper brackets different or the same?

Yep.
Cool.
thank you for the help
Looks like ill be tracking down either 90-94 legacy turbo rear brake set up or the "h6" rear brake set up. just found out the wrx rear brakes are the same as my current set up.
