1993 GSXR 750 A.KA. Skeletor

From the pics you can see why I named it "Skeletor" it's all frame baby! I thought I posted this up before but guess not. :smt017

I got it awhile ago, and haven't done much to it lately. But I did polish the frames and some other bits (still doing some polishing). The brand new battery is shot, I have to get another one to see if the bike will fire up again. I had it running 2 months ago but it has been sitting ever since.

The subframe and all the brackets (not shown) were all done by hand. I forgot the stuff I used to get the paint/finish off. I pretty much used whatever was around. I think one was like a 120 or 220 wood sandpaper. Then I hit it with 800,1000,1500, 2000, 2500, and Meguires billet aluminum polish (really good stuff). As for the frame itself I had to get more into it because theres more surface. To strip the surface I used a 5" disc on a drill and used around the same coarse as the first step (may no be so coarse, I dont remember the girt and I dont have any left to check I don't think). Then hit it up with a 550 grit with the drill. Then it was all by hand 800, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500 Then with a polishing pad on the drill I hit it with Turtle wax nano rubbing compound then the Meguiers on the pad with the drill, then I polished by hand. I've repeated the process 2 times or more because I wanted to see myself in it and I didn't want to see any scratches. Everything is dull again for sitting so long, but I'll hit it with the nano rubbing compound and the Meguires billet aluminum polish again and it will be straight. Oh and I was off and on with this, and there were 2 days I started at 8am till it got dark around 9-930. It took about two weeks, if I done it every day all day it would have taken a few days to a week.

It's hibernating, I need to wait till my car is taking care of. Towards the end of winter I may be able to start getting parts again and bring it to the shop to have the carbs clean and rebuilt and have the forks rebuilt as well. It WILL be done for this riding season.... unless I come across the same thing in running condition cheap :grin:

It's a Triumph arm that they added to, but the old school Honda Hurricanes have been known to be an easier swap.

I traded this for a 99LGT which I sold to EvoLegacy. I was looking for another one of these this year but havent found what I was looking for. Theres a lot of crap around here and they want top dollar for it.
