In the past weeks my front passengers side window would go down but not up, so in order to raise it i used my master (drivers) switch to raise it.
well tonight, that didn't even won't work.
so now my window is halfway open and don't know what to do.
it was already dark, so i was not able to check some fuses but anyone have any idea on what to else to check?
should i remove the panels? what should i check for behind the panels?
its the only window that does that, all other switches work fine.
thanks

The switches are wired up in "series" meaning if the passenger door switch is broken, the driver side door switch that controls the passenger side wont work.
Easiest thing to do is get the FSM from the Literature section and find the schematic of the door switch
run a wire from Positive and Negative from your battery and touch the contacts on the switch itself. If it does nothing then you know the switch destroyed.
I may have a replacement switch for you but I have to check.
Good luck

thanks for the help chuck, that is what im going to do tomorrow. and yea if you can find that switch that would be great.
so most likely the passenger switch is the one that needs to be replaced, since it was the one that wouldn't let the window up?
This sucks big time and college is about to start monday and my window is halfway open. lol

If your in a rush you can just find the contacts on the window regulator (motor) and give that 12 volts and a ground and the motor will send the window back up to orginal place.
Quick fix but I stress the important's when it comes to looking at the FSM and touching the proper contacts.. The last thing you want to do is create sparks and cause more damage.
Good luck

i finally raised the window by doing the 12v contact (regulator) to raise it.
At least i can start taking my car to school now.

I know this is an old poast, but i have a question regarding the same issue.
1995 legacy L wagon.
So what this poast is trying to tell me is that I have to replace the passenger side switch? My drivers side does not work for any of the windows now. the lock switch still functions (locking the switches to the other windows), but i cannot control any other window. All the other switches function as they should, minus the passenger side because it will not roll that window up as was the case in the original poast.
also, the little green light on the switch will come on sometimes, and if i touch any of the switches, it goes out and does not come back on.
Thanks ya'll.
