HEY! I am a total Subie N00bie, and I just bought a 99 BH5 JDM Legacy GT Automatic( I am from NZ ).
The car threw a Check Engine Light and the "VDC off" Light was on too, upon hard acceleration ( when it hit 5500RPM)...
I cruised to a halt, and shut the engine off. after that, i restarted it. The lights disappeared after that...
I took the car to a diagnostician, and he said the turbo's weren't spooling and the computer gave off three error codes, two code 66 ( apparently deals with the twin turbo system) and a code 32 ( O2 sensor) ... he cleared the codes, and it didn't return. But one thing for sure, it isn't boosting at all... the turbo's are spinning but no boost... what is my problem?
BTW... should i install a boost gauge to see what is the issue?

Boost gauge and oil pressure are your two best gauges on a stock turbo car. Hit up Reuben in Auckland he'll be a lot of help for you.
The tech should have told you why the turbos aren't boosting, and how to fix it...
If the turbos are spooling and there is no boost, you could have a boost leak, but you'd be able to hear it.
Could be the bypass valve failed.

Thanks for the replies guys, He did mention that the solenoids could be wonky, ( my mistake for not mentioning it earlier).
but i took it to my usual mechanic, and he did this ----> http://xs942.xs.to/xs942/09351/dsc00157edit224.jpg.xs.jpg (http://xs.to/xs.php?h=xs942&d=09351&f=dsc00157edit224.jpg) and voila! there is boost!
so it that thing faulty?
- I will get in touch with Rueben, for some gauges... Thanks for the tip :D
Yes, that is the bypass valve. Disconnecting it completely identifies it as the problem, but you will need to address it. Without a bypass valve you are now in danger of compressor surge. Stay off the boost until you get it fixed.

^ Thank you very much!! Allow me to be a total arse, can i replace it with a Blow off valve? or is a stock part better to use?

You can, but a proper recirculating valve (like a newer stock part) is better. BOVs are mainly for show unless the car is properly tuned to release that much pressure to atmosphere.
Get the stock part unless you are planning on do some modification to the boost. A BOV that vents to the atmosphere will throw off the air-flow readings that your ECU uses to calculate air/fuel mixture and it won't run as well.

aye, fair enough, i will try to get an almost new part if possible. I do not plan to do any further boosting anytime soon... but i will still get the gauges. Oil pressure, oil temp and boost gauges

:smt022 no luck... replaced the aforementioned part and still no boost... i am such a fool who is a little poorer... but i suppose i could live without the boost...
now i have a used ( in good working condition) Bypass valve... 100 USD including shipping...
Ok so what does that hose that was pulled lead to?

it leads to an electronic valve... http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/4880/dsc00162pmf.th.jpg (http://img198.imageshack.us/i/dsc00162pmf.jpg/) I got my mechanic to pull off the intercooler and now i think i may have found the main problem. one of the turbos aren't spinning. :smt022 ..
http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/5986/dsc00164o.th.jpg (http://img402.imageshack.us/i/dsc00164o.jpg/) the left turbo isn't spinning..
