anyone know if cavalier 15" steelies fit?

guy at work is selling some with new(er) (one season) snow tires on them.
they're 15's and cavaliers are 5x100, so they should fit, but is the center hole the same size? anyone know? it wont be a problem to get them machined out or get some hubcentric rings machined...

just wanted to know if anyone's got any experience with these

hub on the cavalier is 56.1

you may have a problem with the offset though as cavaliers generally run between 35-45mm offset.

Give them a shot. They SHOULD work, but I am almost positive the center bore and possibly the offset is different.

Check for a size/offset stamp. It should be marked somewhere on the wheel.

you might notice that the rims sit out far and close to the fender...you might also notice that your steering changes slightly....

and like bac5.2 said, the rims should be stamped on the inside lip of the rim with the offset...

Those are the stock wheels from an '01 Cavalier convertible. I bought all 4 for $50 from a friend. They look great on my wagon, IMO.

Just to let you know. i tried some steel 15" cavalier wheels on my girlfriends GT and the DID NOT clear the caliper. I have yet to try them on my L yet but it think they will work. As you all know the GTs had dual-piston calipers on the front. bummer.....at least for cheap wheels

EXP - those rims look like early 90s Chevrolet rims. I've seen them on Berettas before, but never a Cavalier and definately not a Cavi past 2000...

if those are the rims i'm thinking of, they're a 5x100, 15x7" and a 42mm offset...

bella, those did come on the newer cavaliers, but only convertable. they may or may not be the same wheels as the ones you are thinking about, however, i couldnt possibly know because i try to stay away from cavaliers and berettas.

EXP: you got a pic of the car on the ground? looks pretty good, but i hate fender gap, so that's kind of ruining it for me.

yeah. as far as checking the stamping on the wheel... they're kind of on the kids car right now in his back yard... so i actually dont know why he wants to sell them, but whatever. his problem, not mine.. haha

i really wanted to buy the 04 z24 split 5-spokes he has, but he wont get rid of them. so i'll have to settle for the steelies with some new bfgoodrich ice track or whatever kind of tires are on there....

i stand corrected. you are absolutely right. i forgot about that the z24 convertibles had those wheels...i thought gm dropped the convert line before 2001 though? anyways, i'm not sure what those wheel specs are. i'm sure you could probably find it online. i'll browse around 'the org' to see what i can come up with..

No problem... I know that I always prefer pictures to speculation. Bella, these are very similar to the wheels that you are talking about, but IIRC, the wheels on the early Berettas and whatnot had a 'closer-knit' spoke pattern. These wheels were removed from this car (http://www.cardomain.com/ride/690011) originally. This exact car belongs to a friend of mine and is a '98. I'm sorry for the confusion.

thanks spence...the specs i posted earlier were for the rims you just posted a pic of. the early beretta rims...they do look a lot like the z24 vert rims so that's probably where i got confused

came with BFG Winter Slalom tires with like 97% treadlife left.

not bad for $200 imo...
