Hi, I have a '95 Legacy L wagon, completely stock except for the muffler, previous owner put a new one on, and I have no idea what it is. I picker her up for $750 from some chick who just graduated college (her parents gave her a honda accord as a graduation gift). I've only had a couple of weeks now, so I haven't had time to really do to much to her. I plan to eventually put a front bumper from an outback on it, and a scooped hood as well. I'm also keeping an eye out for some morettes, but I bet they'll end up costing as much as the car did when I eventually find a pair.
So far I've changed the oil, oil filter, and air filter, sanded down the headlights and polished them up to get rid of the yellowing, and I pulled off my windshield wipers, sanded them, and repainted them cause they were really rusty and nasty. Oh, and I put on new wiper blades too.
Here's some pics:

^ no, that's what the engine is saying, its saying "grr, I'll eat you alive", it's bad azz. I want to put on a hood with a scoop so it can eat up small birds and mammals, lol

question... if I find get a second gen outback bumper, will it just fit directly onto my car, or does it need to be modded to fit properly? If it does, has anyone made a DIY guide for these?

Well, I finished making my own DIY custom grill last night (got the idea from here: viewtopic.php?f=39&t=2214 (https://sl-i.net/FORUM/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=2214)), and installed it this morning (9/9/09). Mine is completely satin black, and the mesh it attached with zip-ties rather than auto screws. I haven't had time to take any pictures, and I probably won't have any time until next Sunday. It looks so gorgeous though, I'm so glad I did it.
I've been thinking about what I want to do to the car next, and I decided I'm gonna save my money up and just get a lot of basic maintenance done. I'm gonna get all the rust spots patched up, get an alignment, get an emissions inspection done, and buy a new set of tires. It looks like I'm running on slicks, lol.
I have also decided that I'm going to completely repaint the car next summer when school lets out. So once I get all the above things done I'm going to start getting some stuff together and saving to do that to do that. I'm thinking of a nice racing red color with all satin black trim.
After all that is done I'm going to get myself some JDM projectors, some decent wheels, and outback rear sway bar, a scooped hood, an outback front bumper, and a rear spoiler. In that order, and hopefully done before I go into college it two years. I'll probably have about $50-$70 being put in my car fund every month so I think that should be enough to sustain my hobby. Eventually down the road, and I mean waaaaay down the road, I want to buy an EJ22 block that has the cylinders bored out and thick sleeves inserted that are the same size as the new STI cylinders. Then I can boost the bejesus out of it until I reach 4 or 500 horsepower, then just pay for new transmissions and driveshafts for the rest of the cars life. Also I want to put in a nice set of seats and completely redo the interior.
Some people collect stamps, others go bowling, I instead, work on my car as my hobby, lol.
Anybody else have any input as to what else I should look into doing to my car? I know I've missed a lot of things that I should do, so please go ahead and leave a reply so I can compile a list for myself. Thanks!
Sorry about going on and on and on forever, there isn't a single person in my school that is a car fanatic, so I never have anybody to just sit and talk cars with, so I just chatted it up here instead...
