A few more specs:
-Mines ECU NO1, tuned by Tommi Kaira
-Fujitsubo Muffler
-BRC LPG

Painted the grille today, because the chrome was died...

I don`t like it at all, I think I`ll paint it silver were the chrome was...

Also painted the wipers:

Installed a HKS SSQV today:

https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2009/09/dsc01075d8iv-1.jpg

Uninstalled the lower part of the air cleaner box, now it can get a lot more air, and it`s sounding crazy agressive... :smt023

very nice! but can anyone explain why the EJ20H has so many vaccum lines running around in it?

impreza_GC8
09-16-2009, 01:05 AM
The twin turbo setup is pretty much vacuum operated. The way I understand it one turbo will actually "despool" while the other spools up, its all controlled by vacuum. There is a very informative post on here that might even be stickied. Basically, there's enough going on under the hood of an EJ20TT that I plan on having nothing to do with one of those motors.

The engine is a EJ20R. And yes, the vaccum hoses are to control the biturbo setup.

But a lot of hoses are related to the LPG conversion also...

Now I`m going to remove some rust, will post pics soon... :smt023

Yes, this is the car.

I changed the grill because I think the OEM looks ways better... The wheels were too big, so I`m going with the OEM ones...

Ok, finished my Intercooler water spray today, except of the nozzles...

It uses the rear washer pump, but does not eliminate it. There`s a valve who controls where the water is going, either to the rear wiper or to the Ic.
It will spray automatically if:
-throttle is more than 80% open
-IC temperature is higher than my setting

There`s also a button to spray manual from the cabin...

Here`s a pic of the temp sensor and the hose to fit the nozzles:

That's awesome! I would love more info on the setup, such as the circuit that reads that temparature sensor and the valve control. I am looking at doing a similar spray setup on my TMIC, and your method looks to be the best.

Steinbruchsoldat
09-22-2009, 03:45 PM
Hi,
here`s a info on the temp sensor, it`s in german, but I think you can see the circuit: http://www2.produktinfo.conrad.com/date ... _100_C.pdf (http://www2.produktinfo.conrad.com/datenblaetter/175000-199999/194883-as-02-de-Temperatur_Schalter__10_C_bis_100_C.pdf)

There`s a little switch on the throttle that is pushed when throttle is about 80% open, and another switch in the dashboard...

Steinbruchsoldat
09-23-2009, 01:48 PM
The switches of the IC spray. On/Off and push to spray:

https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2009/09/dsc01110y3yp-1.jpg

Tried with a hose and little holes in it, but it didn`t work well. Have to wait for the nozzles...

Very nice BG5 but I am curious about the Mines ECU specially one that has been tuned by Tommi Kaira. Every Mines ECU I have come across is the standard Mines fuel maps, what does the Tommi "edition" have in terms of specs?

Didn`T get a chance to test it yet, because I finished it yesterday late night. Now I`m going to drive to school and test it...

It`s tuned for 98 Oktan gas, so I don`t have any problems with knock...

Also the VOD isn`t really noticable, because of the bigger turbo`s and the Ecu...

Put a heat wrap around the washer tank, so the water for the ic spray stays cold:

i notice you said you have put bigger turbo's on you car, i have a 94 BG5 stock and was wondering with the bigger turbos does this not increase lag?

Nice looking car......what BOV have you got fitted???

Steinbruchsoldat

It`s a combination of the bigger turbos and the mines ECU. VOD is not really noticable anymore. It`s a great setup, the car is really fast... :smt119
