View Full Version : Steering wheel shakes?
When I go over 50+ mph and I brake my steering wheel shakes a little. I thought it was my brake pads but I changed them out like a month ago. Can it be my rotors? Well if anyone can help me out that would be great thanks.

have you ever got your brakes really hot? it's possible that's its your rotors, but it is odd that it only does it above 50mph

sounds like the rotors.. I had the issue on my car until I replaced them...
it was downright scary putting the brakes on at 80 mph...

Not I mine was doing the same as the Op said when I put on the brakes, it never happened when I was not on the brakes. I changed the front rotors and all was well.
The old pads left uneven deposits on the rotors, likely due to them not being bedded in properly. You need to either buy new rotors or resurface your old ones.

I bet that happened to me.. the rotors were old but the pads looked new I just went ahead and replaced the rotors and bedded them in the correct way

Most likely the front, than the rear.
If your rotors still have plenty to be resurface, I say do all four. Just to blanket the problem.
