I wish i had got a pick of it :( it was a 3rd gen L, from the bottom of the windows up it was black, but along the sides it had this design on it on the wrb color with smoked out tail lights, and snowflake wheels.

Sounds pretty sweet. I always get a funny look from other subie owners when I wave too, except for one guy who had an older legacy gt. We played leapfrog for about 10-15 miles on the interstate. Until I got to my exit to go to work. Haven't seen him since...

haha, funny waves are great! There are a lot of WRX's and STI's around here and they see me and are like say what???? I don't think they even think they make the connection that i'm driving a modified subaru too.

oh and I have new subaru neighbors in my hometown AND here at college, couldn't be better than this!

Some Impreza owners don't even look at my car till they hear my exhaust. Usually when I get a look, it's a dirty look and I just flip them off. Every so often I'll go on NASIOC in the spotted thread to see if I flipped off anyone on there.

Haha. I get spotted all the time on NASIOC. I've only had like 2 spots anywhere else. Although, the WRX/STi people seem pretty cool when we spot each other. We'll play for a bit and part on good terms. :)

most of the "subaru guys" here think my car is a camry.

Camry?! Anyone that mistakes a Subaru for a Toyota Camry is one of two things... Stupid or VERY stupid. Do your stuff. Different is better. Everyone thinks my car is a Honda, Acura, BMW, Toyota, etc... Stomp their ass on the go and they'll ask. :)

I've seen a lot of stock legacy L sedans (the older ones), and from a side profile, they look a good bit like a civic. I've had coworkers ask me how I like my Volvo wagon, and Ford Taurus Wagon. I also like when your talking with people about the engine and you mention that it's a "BOXER" flat four, and they try to act all smart by saying, "ooh, that's a Porsche engine right!?". I've stopped trying to explain the difference to people who know nothing about cars... I just say "yep, its got a lot of get up and go", lol.

AH! I can't even tell you how many times I've tried to explain the "boxer" vs "boxster." No one gets it. Like I'd mentioned, I have my car mistaken for everything under the sun (even by police (AFTER THEY HAVE MY INSURANCE!).) I've tried and tried and tried... Love the Scoober though!

haha Subaru owners don't really look at my car but I think the Yellow over the hi-beams and the yellow fogs causes them to glance over I did have one of the WRX owners walk over to me when I was cleaning out my throttle body asking me what was wrong and he offered me some parts he had left over from his WRX because he blew his first engine..

lucky bastard some drunk women came down the street and she hit like 3 cars.. so he did his car up nicer.. heh I thought he was one of the normal many douche WRX owners.

boxer engine or the horizontally opposed configuration is common to both subaru and porsche...boxSTer is that secretary convertible porsche sells.

I blow past plenty of wrx and sti owners on the highway, most of the time they don't even give my car a second look...same with the highway patrol. It's just another non descript silver sedan to them

I've never been waved at by another Subaru driver (aside from my 2 friends who have them) but I have gotten several stares. Which is weird because my car barely looks modified.

I think its something about the people around here. I've never gotten waves from anyone unless I knew them. And I've had several modified cars.
