So I installed my MSD coil the other night and this is what has changed:
1. Since I installed my ebay intake the power curve has been "non-linear" (ie. Bog at the start of WOT, smooth pull through a couple grand, lunge of torque towards 4k). It is much smoother now and it is a nice consistent pull to redline.
2. Less of a jerk/lunge when taking my foot quickly off of the gas petal.
3. Less popping/backfiring under hard deceleration.
4. Deeper tone in the exhaust, but overall a little more quiet. The pulses sound more like "pops" instead of "puffs".
5. Low end torque has been slightly restored. (When I had a pile of people in my car before and I didn't give it enough gas starting out it would shutter, now I can very easily pull away using 1k revs)
6. Smoother idle. Sitting at 650 rpms my engine would cyclically rumble and jiggle every 3-4 seconds, now it sits smooth even when the AC condenser is cycling.
I haven't observed a gas mileage change because I am still on the first tank, but I will update if anything surprisingly good happens.
Overall, I am happy so far. I am planning on going to the drag strip to compare my numbers from the last time I went. If I improve there, I will have decent proof that low end torque has been bumped since I haven't made any other changes.
