2005-2008 Legacy rear seats in a 2000-2004 Legacy?

Like the title says, are they the same seats? To different to fit? I did a lot of searching and found nothing. These seats are for a sedan. The ones I have are....needing replacement....I see a bunch on ebay and other forums for reasonable prices, just curious. If there is a thread with this info already on it, point me to it :smile:

I bet they fit close enough. It seems that the Lego theory for Subarus holds pretty true up until the GR Impreza, so I'm betting that the rears from a 2005 Legacy would fit. They may very likely not be "right" though, so keep that in mind.

And I did a little searching but didn't come up with much. But if you can do a little deductive reasoning you should be able to figure out the following:

2nd Gen legacy + WRX seats = true (with gap near port hole window)
3rd Gen legacy + WRX seats = true (with gap near port hole window)
4th gen + WRX seats = ???
or
WRX + 4th gen legacy seats = ??? try searching for Spec B seat swaps into a WRX, if that works then so does the polar

Not very helpful I know. But I think you should be fine. Give it a go and find out, then people in the internet world can use your research as a reference for something like this.

Thanks for that :grin: I kept checking around myself and looked at Subaru parts sites for part numbers and parts required for each. They pretty much look the same. Its the width I'm concerned about, I think the new Legacy's are wider? In the end, I might just get my stock seats recovered :razz: But we'll see, I'd like to try the newer Legacy seats first before going the recovering route as I don't think getting the seats recovered is as cheap as going to a Subaru wrecker and picking out seats, test fitting them, and deciding if they work or not. I'll have to post up pics and what not if and when it all happens!

all I know is that subaru front seats interchange up until the 2005 legacy. The 05+'s have a different bolt pattern for the front seats. take that for what you will; there's really not much holding a rear seat in place (on the 00-04's its basically some slip tabs for the backs and 4 bolts for the cushions) so it's fairly simple to modify rear seats to fit.
