How do you get the crank pulley to stop spinning when trying to get the bolt out

If i remember correctly.. you can just put the car in 5th gear or so too.. or maybe im thinking of a diff step in doing it. I've done it a couple times and still cant remember. :lol:

for all trannies:
Pull off the access cover for the flywheel on the back of the engine, put a flat-head screwdriver in the teeth to stop it from spinning.
Put socket on crank bolt, put breaker bar on socket. Have a friend hold the screwdriver so it doesn't slip.
Break bolt free.
Yes put it into 5th gear that technique worked for me.
