Finally got around to digging out my old camera and taking some pics of my sub! Its my first Subaru of many and I love it, needs some TLC and definitely a work in progress but heres what i'm working with :)

1998 Subaru Legacy 2.5GT
214,000km on Body
166,000km on engine (Original engine, previous owner put a wrx engine in it then took it back out when he sold it x_x )
Automatic Transmission (Oh well)
Not entirely sure on what mods have been done but the obvious: Tint, sports exhaust, 17" work emotion wheels

First thing I want to take care of when I get some extra cash is the bit of rust on the side

Then hopefully spruce up the interior a bit, I want to get rid of all the wood trim and paint it red to match the exterior, probably with plasti-dip. Ton of basic stuff I need to do even down to the floor mats, still have ugly maroon ones in there from my last car (1990 honda accord).

to red, read the DIY on how to go about doing that...should be interesting as im not very good with cars.


What can you guys suggest? I know nothing about cars and am open to all suggestions to pimp out my sub a bit :)

that sucks the owner took the wrx engine with him!!! you should get the aluminum gauge bezel from ebay too since you'll have the gauge pod out of the car anyway when you change the lights to red. You should get some JDM projector fog lights to go with your projector headlights too!

I know x_x would have been sweet, but when the day comes I get to drive with a wrx engine I want it to be stick even though ive never driven stick haha. Good idea navi, I was looking at your carbon fiber gauge thread and looks appealing :P

So those are the JDM projector headlights on it? I wasn't sure and couldn't remember if the previous owner said they were or werent >.< I want to get HID headlights and from what i've seen around the site its best to go with "retrofit", what is that Lol :oops: ?

Fog lights are deff going on sooner or later :) I'm waiting to hear from a job up in Northern Canada, if I get it ill have the money to fund my car if not its going to be small updates when I can afford it x_x

haha that's funny about the whole never driven with stick thing! I want a MT wrx for my next car and I've never driven stick either!! just sick of the auto..

I like the carbon fiber idea, I just don't want to take the needles out of the gauges..

YUP! jdm projectors! Retrofit i believe is just when you modify something older to fit something new. In your case, modify your headlights to run HID headlights! sorry I've never done any research on them BUT here's a DIY of it: https://sl-i.net/FORUM/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=6311

lol were in the exact same boat. My next car will be a wrx or maybe even an sti if I can find a good deal, but I refuse to drive a car with those kind of balls in auto lol, plus everyone talks about how awesome stick is so yea.

Yea that looks nice, I saw them on Ebay today they're pretty cheap. I'll probably grab those soon. They look great in your car :) I also might pick up a kit to add a chrome look to the panels or w/e in my car, I hate the fake wood. But your interior looks great, a lot of what you've done I also want to do :P

Thanks a lot man, I just try to get tasteful mods so my car isn't so flashy or "ricer". The fake wood is pretty lame.. I'm glad i never had that.. Ppl sell the black trim pieces sometimes on the legacy classifieds thread. You should check there often for some good deals
I never thought I'd be doing this with my car 2 years ago. I've gotten a ton of ideas off this site from other ppl, so if my car is what you want your car to look like then GO FOR IT!

haha yea im trying to stay away from ricer, too much of that going around. JDM headlights are nice, so are the fogs which I want :grin:

oh that sucks.. I'm working a minimum wage job at the moment so income isn't that great for me either, just don't worry about it. If you want something just save up!

Yea the Economy blows atm, Trying to get an electrical apprenticeship, so until then im balancing student loan debt, mastercard, life, and car work lol
