Ground Control Camber Plates on BK?

Hi all,

has anyone here tried the top mount Ground Control camber plates? They're made for a WRX, mount on top of the strut tower, and allow independent adjustment of both camber and caster. I have read on the forum here that GD stuff (including camber plates) are a bolt on mod for our cars, and since these plates are reputed to reduce stack height and add travel as opposed to most common plates (Tein, Cusco, etc), I really want to run these on my car.

However- since our cars have much less underhood room than WRXs and the like, has anyone tried installing these and gotten them to fit? I am planning on combining these with a Koni setup, so if anyone has used that combo, and gotten them to fit, I would like to hear from you!

Any Impreza top hat must be rotated to fit the legacy strut tower.

The ground control plates you have listed are static X and Y axis. This will still give you the same result as Subba's plates above.

I had the same problem as you. How to get proper camber/caster adjustment with aftermarket suspension setup on a BD/BK/BG .

Simple answer = Noltec Camber Plates.

These bad boys are "technically" universal mounting orientation.

"The middle (big) nut secures the top to the strut- that one stays put. The three outer ones "sandwich" the top of the strut, by loosening these you can then move the top of the strut any direction- like a joy stick."

Essentially you have the ability to move the strut in any direction, although the hash marks will still be angled.

He is willing to settle outside of ebay which will save you $$$ and Bruce will also give you a better price. That's actually a very good thing though. More caster is always good.

You have to rotate the plates in order for them to fit. This would change the dynamics of the plate. Simple as that?

negative ghost rider. GC fronts line up correctly, as do the rears from a GD.

GD fronts you need to swap left and right, and they will still be off by around 14deg.

the noltecs are still really the best... Caster is soooooo good, but on a budget, go with GC fronts, GD rears. That is for the BG/BK only, BD I believe is a different rear (smaler) all together...

all 2nd gen cars have the same rear top bolt pattern (BD/BG/BK/SG/GD/GG). There are some variations on the tops and spring perches but they all fit.

Up front, all 90-04 Legacy and 93-07 Impreza are the same, but 2nd gen impreza is rotated as was previously mentioned.

05-09 Legacy and 08+ Impreza use the same strut tops all around although the rear lower shock mount is a bit different between the two.

Alright, now I'm confused.

In quite a few threads the GD fronts are said to bolt up without any having to swap left/right or being off by a number of degrees, and that the GC parts have all the troubles. Now I'm hearing GC fronts are win, GD fronts are epic fail. Which is it? Chuckthefuk, what year suspension are you running in the front?

I'm relatively set on the Ground Control plates if they will fit, as I really like the way they've designed those plates. They offer front and rear ones now, and I imagine they have different parts for GC and GD applications...I just need to know which fit.

I'm not reusing anything, I'm buying all-new parts for this project. Ground Control parts aren't super common in the Subaru world, so I don't have much choice in the matter.

Another question to you all: since my car is a BK, does that mean I need different rear shock lengths compared to normal GD -> BD suspension swaps? What is the approximate length difference? Since the Ground Control full coilover suspension is more or less custom made with custom housings and shock lengths, I may be able to tweak the lengths to better fit.

Im running the coilovers for a GC impreza. They are perfect a fit length wise.
Im running GC impreza front Camber Plates. They are perfectly aimed at each other.
Im running GD impreza rear camber plates. They are perfectly aimed at each other.

So if you order a kit, just order ALL GC stuff, and if you want rear camber plates, get GD.
