A guy I know on Cardomain just bought a Stage one chip for his Legacy.

Whats your opinion on this thing? I think it looks cheap and wont work.

It's a joke. There's no way a resistor in a box is going to gain you 50hp. If it did, we'd all be using them by now.

I'd have four of them. ;)

let him install it drive the car for a while compare the mpg and hp claims that they have, then throw it away and go back to normal operation. generally they make your car run too rich thus '""""giving you extra hp"""" oh and a placebo effect helps too.

Yeah that's garbage. When people find out that I'm into cars and modifying my car they always ask me if I'm gonna put a chip in it. I just look at them blankly. Bolt ons are the only way, and boost!

I wish I could boost or have a turbo for that matter

"the Legacy ECU chip will enable the car to sprint to whatever speed you want"

I'd like to go 300 mph please...

huh? yes i did? And how the smart car and Bentley links are all the same 50 hp to a smart car? Its obviously garbage just a resistor I'm just saying not all performance "chips" are garbage.

Yeah, I guess chips are a big thing with diesel trucks. I've heard you can unleash a good amount of power like that. I wonder if it works the same with turbo diesel cars?

Some of them are like a piggy back ECU but with only one map, they install that map over the stock and usually take off the speed limiter but on most cars there a joke especially the ones that say they get you a lot more power and better milage.

Chips on diesels are no joke, especially some of the Dodge trucks, which just have de-tuned truck engines. They just turn up the boost and add more fuel with the chip and instant 300 hp increase.

If only you could just hit a switch and get more power. O wait a sec

Except that the chips we are all talking about are the ones listed in the first link. Nevermind.
