So I changed my transmission fluid on my 5 speed 97 legacy gt tranny like 10k miles ago. When I was taking the drain bolt out it fell into the drain pan and I didn't realize there was a washer to it untill the tranny was already filled back up. I was under the car recently and noticed there was some fluid leaking onto the header (not much). It also looked like it was leaking from some other bolt on the side of the tranny. I don't have any pics of it right now, but has anyone else had the tranny leak from bolts other than the drain?

my 03 Forester XS had trany fluid leak on the header but that was because the seal was going to one of the drive shafts.. ended up with a very costly mistake.. ran low while on the highway and got louder and louder until boom..
but anyways did you check the tail housing is it dry? that's a leak point also.

What do you mean by tail housing?

where the driveshaft for the rear goes mine has a small leak and if it was not for me going fully under the car I thought it was one of the CV joints for the front wheels. It dripped down and pooled in the middle of the trans.
