This was actually a really easy process
1st remove rear taillights you may need a flat head to help pop them off mine were stuck on there pretty good with the stock seller that they use.

2nd clean taillights with glass cleaner or whatever you would like to use to clean and degrees
3rd spray 1 to 3 coats depending on how dark you would like.
https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2009/09/HPIM1017-1.jpg 3 Coats
4th Dries usually in 15 to 30 min and reattach to car

You might want to list what you used to spray them with.. along with a closer picture perhaps? Good job otherwise!

do you take the lense off and spray the inside or spray the outside?

Did you just mask off the reverse lights too? and what did you use to do this?

looking at the can on his rear bumper he used vht nite-shade spray paint available on ebay and similar places, most likely sprayed them on the outside at least thats what i did about two years ago, paint is still holding up with no problems what so ever.

one thing to watch out for is uneven layers, they may not be visible from outside but when you turn your lights on you can see where the paint is thicker/thinner.

it makes the lights a little dimmer but not overly dim where no one can see and i did mask off the revers lights as well as pulled them out of the car the spray is on the outside of the car and yeah sorry i forgot to mention the vht night shades kind of an iimportant bit of info. I am going to be going to a meet tonight so i will get some night shots and get them posted eather late tonight or early tomorrow mornin

Looks great. I think I'll do that with my flat black Legacy wagon as well. Might get a spare set of taillights from a junkyard to practice on. Thanks for the inspiration.

i dont know about tinted tails.

if you get rear ended it could end up being your fault

i know if i rear ended one of the little ricer civic kids in the nsighbourhood i'd tell the cops i couldn't see there brake lights because they spray painted them

yeah and if the lights still work after the accident and are pretty clear to see gl with that, i've been driving with tinted tails for more than two years now in NYC with no problems what so ever. they only way cops would be on your side if the other driver is a dick or his tail didnt work at all. simply beacause you should keep your distance. you know how many people drive around with no brake lights at all or just the middle one around here? lol.

i dont know who put that 1 vote that this write up is not helpfull, but thats not right. here it shows you what needs to be done and what to be used to paint your lights. i think its pretty helpfull to people who want to do that. just beacause you against it doesnt mean its not helpfull. shame on you.

i tinted my tails with it. only i tinted them about 5 shades darker the the custom paint blue BD up here. looks amazing and it shows up perfect at night. no problems during the day either. used the same stuff.

Does it have a flat finish? Did you use plastic wax afterwards?

Would you recommend clearing it? I just want a standard looking finish when I do this...

has a gloss finish. no wax needed. if you know how to actually use a aerosol can it should come out amazing
