Hey guys, I have a 1996 Legacy L and am interested in improving the car seeing as I will be having it throughout my next two high school years. At the end of that time I'm going to purchase a second car, but for now I want to make this one nice. It currently has 102,000 miles on it and ever mechanic we've taken to says that the engine and suspension are both in perfect condition.

Anyway, I need to know what kind of options I have as far as interior is concerned. I would like to get the carpet replaced or restored and painted, I want to put two blue racing seats in it, and I want to reupholster the seats in the back to match the color of two front seats. I would like to turn the carpet black or blue, I'm not 100% sure yet. I also want to change the gauge cluster to replace it with something more modern, but I have no idea how to even start looking for something like that. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

not too many choices as far a gauge clusters go unless your willing to test something out by yourself,

but as far as seats go a lot of people have swapped them with other subarus ( the whole subies are legos thing) just get a matching set front and rear

same deal with the carpet easiest is to swap with another subie

* about reupholstering: i went to the local shop in my area that does this and they were wanting ~ 300 just to recover my front seats *

02 wrx seats bolt right in. well 4 of 5 bolts. your seat will sit about an inch higher then stock. it doesn't bother me, but im 5'9". there is still head room to spare. my car is same year make and model. big upgrade for seats, and great kidney support. :smt023
