Swapping a Manual Tranny into a 1996 Legacy L

Cost? Difficulty? What all would I need to do to accomplish this. I'm really intent on getting this done, automatics are boring as hell to drive (I say this because there isn't much traffic where I live)

Holy shit. The amount of work that it takes to do the swap is incredible. I'm not sure if I'm up to 4 days of working all day. I know a mechanic who would probably help me out, but still... that's a lot of money to spend. With the flywheel, and the cost of using my mechanic friend I bet it would cost 800-1,000 at least :\

Anyone who's done this, how much did you pay and was it worth it?
