I have a friend who has access to machining equipment, and he also has a Subaru and little money much like myself. I have no intention what-so-ever of making exact duplicates of another company's design, we plan on designing the collar ourselves using a two-piece design like the Katboy and Group-A versions. This would be easy because the bolt itself is frankly just an ordinary bolt (of presumably high quality).

These specs I have here are based on the first picture on the Scooby Mods page for the Kartboy version here (http://www.scoobymods.com/kartboy_subframe_locking_bolts-t9236.html). It would be fantastic if someone who has these in their possession could confirm using real world measurements, if possible.

-Total length of the bolt shaft: 60mm
-Diameter of the bolt: 12mm
-Thread pitch: M12 x 1.25 (based on 8 threads per cm)
-Length of threaded section: 25mm
-Length of collar: 35mm

I imagine I'm not the only one who could make use of this.

EDIT: Crap, forgot we had a DIY forum, could a mod move this please?

but kartboy is the bestest, and really, I don't see it being worth making another rip-off of a product to save a few bucks at best. Whiteline, kartboy, perrin, and group a already make them.

however, the lock bolts don't fit quite right in older subframes. What would actually be nice is a shorter bolt and insert. Perhaps I will measure how much shorter it should be the next time my car is in the air:

I can certainly right-size it, I'll be taking measurements on my car sometime too. I'm expecting to make as many as half a dozen kits for the cost of most others.

What does this do for the car?

The rear subframe that the rear lower suspension and rear differential bolt to is not mounted hard to the body. It rides on bushing that allow it to shift side to side and front to back, which causes the rear suspension to be less effective or accurate. These keep it from moving around so much.
