Fantastic buy. I paid $7k for mine with a few nice JDM style mods already done, 80k on the clock.

Tint + suspension work will turn it into a great looking car. Exhaust/intake, wheels can all come later for very good prices if you're patient.

Well, I just got my windows done today (15% all around + Visor strip) and I ordered my new head unit http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/CarAudioVideo/In-Dash/CD-Players/Pioneer/DEH-P5100UB. The guy that did my windows said he'd order any other speakers/equipment I wanted for wholesale (+10%), so I'll soon be also ordering all the rest of my speakers, plus a few 10s. I'll post some pics of the tint-job once I get a chance / better weather.

SON OF A.... Found a rear hatch spoiler for my OB for 39.99 + 16.00 shipping...was high bidder 'til RIGHT before the end...damnit. Missed it by less than a minute!

OH Yeah! Looks like I'm gonna be picking up some 05 STI complete struts tomorrow afternoon! Time to take the first step to gettin this baby to sit pretty!

Yep, thats a true story. Most of it would just be complaining about how my OB is trying to fall apart :) Here's a quick summary of the 'large gap':

>developed 4 blown out struts (nice ride)
>old, worn-out brakes caught up with me and prompted my wife "wtf is that sound when you stop?!"
>Developed an exhaust leak (pretty sure its just the gasket just ahead of cat)
>Inner tie-rod end decided to go tits-up (resulting in semi-perma-parking a week ago)
>fot light lense cracked....not sure about that one yet

Short summary of the last 2 weeks:
>Replaced 4 rotors and 8 pads (and found a bad caliper and broken abs tone wheel that was IMPOSSIBLE to find as a 'legacy' part)
>tracked down and purchased previously mentioned tone wheel :)
>had a joyous time replacing that tie-rod end
>found a guy about 20 miles from me selling good 'ol STI goodies for new 'pending' stance
.....aaaand, thats about it for now :)


Haven't forgotten about ya'll, just didn't wanna take up forum space with complaints, lol :smt024

Weeeeeell, so I feel like an idiot. I don't know what to call it. Dyslexia? Just plain dumb? Lack of attention to detail? Whatever you wanna call it, I seemed to have missed the part that said 05 sti struts will NOT work. Now, I've been negotiating with a guy for about a week, and he's gonna sell me his 05 sti struts. I was super excited, and even more excited that he was gonna hold them for me. Now, a few hours before I'm supposed to go meet him and make the trade, I realize (checking my stuff again to be sure I'm on the right track) that this just will not work. What a dumb-ass. I'm gonna feel like a mega d-bag on top of it all, cuz I'm gonna have to back out on this guy...all because I didn't do my research correctly.

...geez, and I thought for sure I read it right...then I see that EVERYTHING says I was wrong. *facepalm* *facepalm* *facepalm
