Did anyone else have this issue? It's a Cusco style one and it ended up just hitting my hood before I could close it.
I ended up just reversing the bar so it curves down. What did everyone else do?

This is normal. You probably have the beefy style ends where they rise above the strut top. The legacy has less underhood clearance than the GC impreza. Flipping the bar backwards makes it fit unless you have an intercooler.
Other options include
grinding the strut brace arms
cutting the hood
raising the hood.

I've heard stories about this but I had only believed it was for the reinforced style ones (aka sti structure). I thought I wouldn't have any problems because it looked relatively flat. All fixed though :)
I tried bending the main bar so it would sit lower, but that didn't work at all. I guess it's working because I can feel the better turn in and stability.

I have a ebay one, similar design to the Cusco one. I just put it on a press and press the edges flat. Now the hood close just fine.
I had the Titanium STi bar, but sold it because it didn't fit. Found a CUSCO OS bar that fits just perfect.
