hey guys first time posting so here it goes, i have a 92 turbo legacy i am also new to turbos but i bought it from a guy who has done a good amount of mods and i believe he just tuned by adding more fuel but id like to start tuning the ecu is there any mods or stand alone systems that would be a good place to start?

Since your legacy is pre-96 its OBDI not OBDII. You do not have the option to "FLASH" your ECU. There are many "ROM" chips available with different tuning stages from various companies.

Besides going with ROM chips you can purchase a full standalone from Greddy/HKS/AEM/Hyrda/Megasquirt etc.. You will need to run new sensors depending on the requirements of the stand-alone. FIY: most stand-alone systems eliminate the MIL/CEL light so keep that in mind.

Are you running a "piggy-back" Air/Fuel controller like a Apexi SAFC? If not what exactly is increasing your fuel delivery.

ROM chips go for $100-800 depending on the tune and the company.
Stand-alones go for $500-1500 and some require accessories such as a harness and sensor converters.

yeah i kinda realized that its not going to be that easy for me since i do have obd 1. i dont think rate now a stand alone system is what i want to take on however i have found a chip that revtronix has id like to go with the stage 2 but i need bigger injectors to go with the tdo5 "not installed still running vf10" as for increasing the fuel it doest have any fuel controller thought i should look into this maybe, it just has a aftermarket fuel pressure regulator and assuming that he just cut the pressure up to compensate "does have a higher flow fuel pump" because the guy has been running it for sometime at 17psi with no intercooler without any issues. but does anyone know of any other places offering plug in chips such as revtronics?

Get the revtronix stage 2 and all the supporting mods it requires. It's all pretty basic stuff to install.

forget all the chips etc.

if you want to do it cheaply, try and get a hold of some of the JDM STi/ RA ECU's that have similar turbo/ injector specs as your car. not you'll need to be running high octane fuel for safety.

or, fit an interceptor of some description, haltech/ e-manage/ etc, etc
that allows you control over fuelling and timing maps to customise it to your particular car

or go an aftermarket standalone ECU
an Apexi powerFC is a good, simple, plug'n'play solution, although the early models are discontinued and hard to get now.

My car runs an EJ22T ECU as well. There is nothing out there for reflashing or tuning except for the Revtronix chips. I have larger injectors in my car but the ECU is unscaled for them so I don't get the best gas mileage. I'm going to be throwing an SAFC on the car in the next month and then moving to a standalone EMS within 6 months hopefully.
BTW, I'd hope that your car hasn't run 17psi with no intercooler. A stockish EJ22T Legacy doenst have the fueling or intecooling ability to run 17 psi, not to mention the factory fuel cut is set at 12 psi.

so ive been away from this for awhile but i dunno what i want to do with the car now and yeah it has been running 17 with no intercooler i dunno how the previous owner got around the fuel cut but i installed a fmic on it which gave me a world of problems plus it shows code 22 and i listen to the engine no pinging and replaced the sensor still then same code just seems like its getting to old to find anything for it that wont cost me 2k or more with dyno just to run a stand alone, and btw im not sure about revtronix anymore because if u check out the forums its all filed with spam and the guy never returns my calls plus according the last time i talked to him stage x was already suppose to be out butttt isnt
