Did search all around, didn't exactly find what I was looking for. So I might as well ask here.

I want to upgrade my rear open differential on my '98 4EAT BD with the final drive of 4.444. So far, the only vehicles that has LSD rear diff. ratio are the '00-01 Impreza RS 4EAT, '02-05 Forester 4EAT.

My question is, will either of these diffs. bolt right in?
And will I need to swap axles with the rear diffs.?

I've read that the regular R160 will match up with the same diff. axles. Only the JDM ones, you need to swap axles to fit. Is this correct? If so, then it should fit right?

You need to match up the FD. That's pretty much it.

Ok, I got the answer I'm looking for.

On hallowpoint's wagon, the previous owner drop in a diff. from an '04 Forester and didn't need to swap over axles. So that's very good news. I should be getting one from a junkyard next week. I'll see how that goes
