I have the diagrams for both cars and need someone who knows what they are doing that can figure out how to wire it up for the digital HVAC.

I think I'm very wrong on this, but I was under the impression that in order to go from manual to auto climate, you had to change out the compressor, blend door, and a few other things aside from just the controls....right?

:smt023 As well as installing a temp sensor (in cabin) and I believe the relays as well as the
??heater core valve?? (<--I might be wrong on this tho)

also light sensor and quite a few other things, its a lot of work i wouldnt try it but then again auto climate is nice

So for kicks, lets say somebody got all of the required sensors and such. It can still be done, right? that also leads me to a follow up question - Can I use RHD parts (wires, sensors, etc) for a LHD car?

I can't understand the diagrams of the service manual very well, so I can't fully figure out what I need to source. If somebody else knows what they're looking at, then I'd just like to know what all needs to be taken from a donor Auto A/C car to be put into a manual A/C car to make it work. I'm not doing the install work, but I am trying to get all of the parts together so somebody else can.

I have full diagrams of both auto A/C and manual A/C in both RHD and LHD. I'm thinking that's enough information to figure out exactly what is needed and what needs to be done, I'm just not savvy enough to interpret it.

I'm really wanting to do this. I love the digital auto control of the BES so much that I'd like to adapt it to the BE9. I have access to whatever parts I need, so that isn't a problem. Money isn't too much of a problem either (within reason). So I'm I'm just wanting to know: CAN it be done? and if so, how?

Import a front cut, splice the main harness...

Not exactly worth it for the "convenience factor", but if you're into JDM bling, that would be the cake topper probably.

Since the '03 and '04 US Legacys also had it, I don't consider that to be Japan specific. In fact, the digital control module I got is from an '03 US outback. I do like the convenience though. Since I'm not doing the install, it really is convenient!

Front cut? I'll ask about that then. Thanks.

this is what i know that is different between manual/auto ac
my car has a speed sensor on the ac compressor, also has light sensor, temperature sensor within the cabing with a vacuum hose attached to it (dont know where it leads to), probably two or more outside temperature sensors, definetely ac blower is different. there are probably more this is just what i've came into contact with in my car so far.
since there are auto climate BD/BK/BGs in the motherland i'll assume wiring doesnt have to be spliced but then again you never know. doing this work will envolve enourmous amount of labor, entire dash has to come out down to firewall and then reinstalled. Doubt its worth it but then again i love my auto mode just select desired temperature and enjoy.

Sooo... what ever happened with this?

I'm looking into doing Digi HVAC in my BD. need to do a heater core anyway. I know this will be a pain, but so is welding a car back together thats been cut in half! ;-)

Will the actuators and such bolt on into a LHD car?
